Non-Academic Learning
Work Experience/Careers
Our sixth form has an embedded programme of career education that all students experience during their time with us. This ranges from encounters with employers and experiences of workplaces to embedded career pathways within our subject curriculums, including STEM career pathways.
Every student gains first-hand experiences of the workplace through work visits and visiting speakers, who help their exploration of career opportunities and expand their networks. These visits give students the opportunity to develop their career choices and see how their skills can be applied to real working conditions.
Every student has multiple opportunities to learn from employers about work, employment and the skills that are valued in the workplace. This is through a range of activities including visiting speakers, mentoring and enterprise schemes. Students have a full range of learning opportunities that are available to them, including both academic and vocational routes and learning in schools, colleges, universities and in the workplace.
Every student is given personal guidance that is tailored to their needs whether their chosen pathway be university, apprenticeship or employment.
Enrichment
Our sixth form works with Kinetic Foundation to offer our Sixth Formers the chance to play football alongside their sixth form studies. We have a football liaison who is on site during the week to support members of the kinetic programme with their studies, who then get the opportunity to play for a wide range of teams, with their top teams regularly playing showcase games against professional academies. More about the Kinetic Foundation can be found out here - https://www.kinetic-foundation.org.uk/
As well as our football programme, sixth formers enjoy a great variety of on-site enrichment activities too, ranging from basketball and gym, to music and drama.
