Geography
Why We Study Geography
Here at South Norwood, we believe that Geography is a multi-faceted discipline that combines the analysis of social questions, environmental issues and real world solutions. Geographers at South Norwood will investigate interactions between mankind and our physical environments such as the causes and impacts of climate change. We also equip learners with empathy of other cultures through the study of real world examples. Using practical fieldwork and research skills, we investigate problems on variety of scales from local (food banks) to global (water shortages).
The Geography Department here at South Norwood was also recognised by the Geographical Association for its quality and progress in curriculum development and teaching and learning with the Secondary Quality Mark awarded from 2018-2021.
