Two ambitious A level student projects !
Kadija
As part of her brief to create film trailer and a film promotional package for Media Studies, Kadija has decided to do a documentary film on the cross-curricular topic of the fight against corruption in Africa, which also links with her Sociology course. She is being very ambitious with the scope of her project including conducting interviews with charities and even visiting a seminar on the topic in central London. Furthermore, she is using her upcoming trip to Senegal as an opportunity to interview people affected and get some very authentic location shots. I’m thrilled to be working with her on this and can’t wait to see the finished product for her A Level coursework.
Ella
In response to her brief to create film trailer and a film promotional package for Media Studies, Ella has decided to do a coming–of-age film inspired by her love of Thelma and Louise. Ella is a film buff who also volunteers for the Stanley Film club so she puts a lot of passion into what she does. She is being very ambitious with her film idea, which even includes a trip to New York for exterior shots to be used in the trailer. Her film idea tackles issues around feminism and Ella has researched this topic in a scholarly fashion to prepare for the production. Her tenacious planning for the production has even included getting in touch with a record label and songwriters for permission to use a particular song. I’m very excited to work with her on this and eagerly anticipate the finished product for her A Level coursework.
